A leading Kenyan warehouse and logistics service provider Cold Solutions, says it’s going to invest USD 70 million to assemble the biggest chilly chain facility in East Africa to address challenges that face transportation of perishable goods.
Cold Solution’s 15,000 sqm flagship facility in Tatu City Special Economic Zone in Nairobi would be the largest, most superior and environment friendly in the region. The chilly chain facility is flexibly designed to cater for quite a few temperature ranges from +26 to -40 C and a quantity of product ranges, from contemporary fruit and greens, to pharmaceuticals and vaccines, meats and poultry, and frozen meals.
Cold Solutions Kenya is a portfolio company of ARCH Cold Chain Solutions East Africa Fund, a private fairness fund advised by ARCH Emerging Markets Partners Limited (ARCH).
“Cold Solutions’ one-stop-shops are designed to allow businesses to keep observe of products in real-time and facilitate transportation across East Africa by way of temperature-controlled vans, either within the internal city or to long-haul locations,” stated Jared Irving, Managing Director, ARCH.
