The 30 deepwell gas pumps might be delivered between August 2022 and January 2024.
This is certainly one of Svanehøj’s largest LNG fuel-related orders thus far. It is also the second LNG gas pump techniques order that Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding has placed with Svanehøj in the last year. In July 2021, Svanehøj signed a contract to supply deepwell pumps for 10 dual-fuel LNG container vessels (15 000 TEU).
Svanehøj quadrupled sales of its patented deepwell fuel pumps in 2021, and says there are heaps of indications that sales could increase even further in 2022.
“Until a few years in the past, the use of LNG as a marine gas was restricted to LNG carriers and smaller ships. But we at the moment are seeing a sharp enhance in gas pump orders for deep sea vessels such as container ships and automotive carriers,” said Johnny Houmann, chief gross sales officer at Svanehøj. “We were chosen as the provider of gas pump systems for over 50% of the dual-fuel LNG container vessels ordered globally in 2020–21. And we aim to extend our market share additional within the coming years.”
